Things to do - Stanley Ghyll

Stanley Gyll Force (Waterfall)

Stanley Ghyll Force is a 60 foot high waterfall in a dramatic deep and narrow gorge, where rhododendrons on high ledges and precipices give an almost oriental feel to the area.

It is possible to walk to Stanly Gyll from Woodend, it is approximately 2 miles away and makes a nice stop off point on the way to Boot.

Alternatively the force is reached either from the car park at the Dalegarth Station of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, or the nearer National Trust car park.

Extreme care is needed in places, as the path is very steep and unfenced.
